Because nothing is better than great food... except enjoying it with someone special!

OUR RECENT RECIPES:

Vegetarian Chili

It doesn't have to be cold for us to crave some bone-warming homestyle comfort food. The number one comfort food in our books is homemade chili with just a little kick. This chili is jam-packed with beans and wholesome flavors sure enough to warm you up no matter what the weather!

Our advice is always to make big batches of chili -- it's a great leftover to throw on nachos, to serve cold over crisp greens or just to eat again and again! If you aren't much into leftovers, halve this recipe and enjoy two big bowls of chili for two!

Peanut Chicken Lettuce Wraps

It's hard to beat refreshing lettuce wraps on a hot day. We made these from chicken we had marinated in teriyaki sauce and grilled the day before. It's a super quick and easy lunch to throw together for an afternoon in the back yard! We served the chicken warm but it would be just as good if it was prepared in advance and served cold.

Fish and Chips

We couldn't turn down the fresh Florida grouper at our local grocery store this week! We picked up some fingerling potatoes, lemons and concocted a yogurt-based sauce for dipping. The fish may be fried, but the baked potatoes and yogurt dip make up for it.. at least a little.

What you'll need:
- 1 lb. grouper
- 2 cups flower
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepeer
- 1/2 cup peanut oil
-10-15 fingerling potatoes (sliced into wedges)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 lemon

For the dipping sauce:
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp relish
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- squeeze of lemon juice

Grilled Tomato Soup

Tomato soup and grilled cheese -- a timeless classic. We grilled the tomatoes to add a mild smokey flavor to the soup, already tangy from the lemon and balsamic vinegar. Since we're still adjusting to the bitterness of winter, we served the soup warm but this is one that also tastes great as a cold summer soup.
We made a simple grilled cheese with whole wheat bread, lacey swiss and thin-sliced honey ham. Grilled to perfection, it's the perfect thing to dip in this creamy tomato soup!

Spicy Chicken Italiano

Here is our spicy take on the Italian classic, Chicken Parmesan. We've kicked it up with some spicy Arabiatta instead of traditional tomato sauce and snuck in a piece of prosciutto for good measure ('cause who doesn't love prosciutto?).

Enjoy with a glass of your favorite red wine!

We're a little late on posting this one, but we created our own take on classic shepherd's pie for Pi Day (3/14). Yes, we're dorks... but it was delicious and this recipe makes enough for next-day leftovers!

Happy New Year from both of us!!

2012 was a big year for us -- we moved not just once, but twice. Now we're back in our home state braving the cold northeast winter once again. One of our resolutions as we kick off 2013 is to get back to sharing the delicious foods
we've been enjoying. So here we go!

To kick things off, we figured the best meal to prepare on a cold winter's day is chili. Our spicy southwestern chili is sure to warm you from the inside with smokey chipotle peppers, sweet corn and four different kinds of bean. We like to make chili in big batches because it lends itself to a variety of creative leftovers.

Three Cheese Broccoli Pizza

WOW! It's been a long time since we've posted a recipe. We've both been busy with work and life, but this pizza was simply too delicious and easy to make for us not to share! I swear, asiago cheese and broccoli was a match made in heaven!

Fall is in the air!  Well...  maybe not just yet for us here in Tampa....

The best thing about fall (second to apple crisp, of course) is warm and cozy comfort meals! This potato leek soup is one of our favorite meals to turn to when the humidity breaks and the weather starts to turn cool. Plus, it's super easy!
